US markets were closed Thursday and part of Friday because of Thanksgiving. On this shortened week my screen of the US stock markets (NASDAQ, NYSE, and AMEX) found 26 US stocks over $10 making all-time highs last week. This is half as many as the week before and less than all but one week in October. Though the headlines about Dubai's debt were gloomy, damage to the major indices was minimal as SPY closed the week only 0.1% lower than last Friday, and QQQQ was down 0.2%. A warning sign came from the small-caps underperforming, with the Russel 2000 (IWM) down 1.7%, and my screen for all-time high stocks between $2 and $10 came up empty. The US Dollar (UUP down 1.1% from Friday to Friday) and gold (GLD up 1.9%) continue to be important themes in the market. This week's list includes gold stocks (ANV and GOLD) and familiar names like BIDU and EW (a personal favorite). Here are the charts:
