Which stocks in this week's all-time high list are being snapped up by the big money? Last week it was Almaden Minerals (AAU, AMM), this week Gold Resource Corp (GORO) is leading the way.
The table below contains US stocks with the highest institutional buying from among the hundreds in my all-time high stock screen (available in the 'Stock Screen Results' tab at the top of the blog). Notice that Institutional Ownership ('Inst Own') is typically less than 50%, meaning the stocks are not 'over owned' by institutions.
These are mostly smaller, newer, companies so it is not surprising that Piotroski Scores and Altman Z scores are not available or low. Also, company valuation metrics don't always apply to resource stocks. That said, Amtech Systems, Inc (NASDAQ: ASYS) is a standout in all categories!

There are many good looking stocks in the list, including Entropic Communications (ENTR) and ZAGG Incorporated (ZAGG). The stock with the highest rate of insider buying is Gold Resource Corp (NYSE, AMEX: GORO), which was also in the list last week, but it did not rank number-one at the time. GORO has only 12% institutional ownership so there is room for more accumulation. The chart, below, shows many above average green volume bars and upward spikes in Elder Force indicating large buyers entering and pushing the price upwards.
From www.goldresourcecorp.com: Gold Resource Corporation (GRC) is a low cost gold and silver producer engineered from day one to maximize shareholder value: (1) Focusing on high-grade, low cost mining projects able to repay capital invested in those projects in one year or less (100% IRR), (2) Focusing on increasing production to 200,000 ounces of annual precious metal gold equivalent within three years, (3) Focusing on a tight capital structure resulting in only ~53 million shares outstanding, (4) Focusing on increasing resources, increasing production and increasing cash flow with potential to distribute meaningful dividends. Gold Resource Corporation has discovered three high-grade deposits within a large robust epithermal system forming a new high-grade mining district in the southern state of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Most market participants are looking for instant gratification and a 100% success rate. When they lose money a few times in a row, they just jump on the next “big” thing; never spending enough time to specialize in one particular setup. - Ivanhoff Capital
